This is a spectacular hike that covers about half the length of the island and has panoramic views on the both sides of the sea. It starts at Panagia Hozoviotissa – 1000 years old Monastery and follows the ancient path for about 10 km (6,2 miles). Stopping off the area of Kapsala where the first monks had their cells in caves and the abounded rural settlement Asfontilitis full of wells. The end of the,path is at the traditional fishermen village – Potamos. Although the route is well maintained it is very rocky underfoot. It starts at 160 m (524 ft) above the sea level and rises till 460 m (1509 ft), then descends till 290 m (951 ft) and rises till 385 m (1263 ft) again. The hiking time is about 5 hours.
